4.5 StarsHeres a few things you need to know about The Key when you start it. Its a series, so yes the book will end on a cliffhanger. Im not spoiling anything from you because that warning was screamed at me prior to reading the book.This is a YA book, so the steam is not there and the romance is mild, but plenty good in my opinion.Theres a lot that goes on in the book, but it worked for me completely.Reading YA fantasy books are something you have to be in the mood for and I was on the huntThis book was like a pot of all the books I love. It was a bit slow, but the story made up for it.

Rating: 1.5 StarsI'm being generous with my grade. Yes, the premise was interesting and the writing made it easy to breeze through the book. However, there wasn't much book to breeze through. Not much happens in my opinion. The characters were not very complex and it was obvious who the good guys and bad guys were. No real character development. No world building outside the bare minimum. Actual rating: 3.5 stars I had very low expectations for this book but it turned out quite well.
