Ah this series got better with each book! I'm sad that it's over. I'd love a spin off with the twins! Here I am at the end of a wonderful journey to the Fading Lands and back. This is quite possibly, one of the only times that I can recall truly feeling satisfied as I close the book on a series. Not every single question was answered, but I was able to finish the book and relish the magic that was Tairen Soul.Book 5, the final installment gave me insight into some of my favorite characters like the twins, Kieran, Kiel, King Dorian, Shan, and Elfeya, as well as some of my not so favorite
All in all I enjoyed this series. The world building in particular was extremely well done and highly original. I enjoyed the story, the setting, and the characters a great deal. This series was not perfect however and this novel exposed certain problems therein.Let me also state that this review contains spoilers. If this bothers you, don't read any further.(i) My biggest issue came towards the end of the book, in which there was a prime example of what I have come to refer to as the TSTL
[Second EDIT] I am not sure how many times I have read this series of five books - four or five counting the audiobooks. Each time I am just blown away, not just with this wonderful fantasy world the author has created but with the beautiful characters so different than any other fantasy books I have read. If this is not my favorite series EVER, I am not sure I can think of one that is better. Close...but not better. [REREAD - SECOND TIME]Once again I have finished the fifth and last book in the
Well I'm done and now I don't know what to do with myself. A week and a half of reading this whole series nonstop and now I'm thrust back into the real world. I expect my book hangover is going to be brutal, but it was worth it. This is an amazingly written series from start to finish and I couldn't recommend it enough to anyone in need of a good fantasy romance read.
*1,5 stars*This last book is on par with the rest of the series. Dragging, with lots of repetition and predictable. In my opinion the 5 books could have been edited and condensed in at least 3 books. There's nothing wrong with predictability as long as you make the journey interesting. Here the journey drags on and on and on... The paradox being that contrary to the other books, lots of things happen in this one. But the structure of the book, the writing and the amount of repetitions doesn't
Some books just rob me of words to adequately describe what it did with me, CROWN OF CRYSTAL FLAME is such a book. C.L. Wilson gave me a conclusion where joy and sadness, love and hate, courage and angst, laughter and tears fuse in to an action filled story that gave me an unparalleled reading experience within the romance fantasy genre. CROWN OF CRYSTAL FLAME is by no means a novel you can read as a stand-alone since it is an end game story where the truemate bond between Elly and Rain needs to
