Explanation Toward Books The Sicilian (The Godfather #2)
After Mario Puzo wrote his internationally acclaimed The Godfather, he has often been imitated but never equaled. Puzo's classic novel, The Sicilian, stands as a cornerstone of his work--a lushly romantic, unforgettable tale of bloodshed, justice, and treachery. . . . The year is 1950. Michael Corleone is nearing the end of his exile in Sicily. The Godfather has commanded Michael to bring a young Sicilian bandit named Salvatore Giuliano back with him to America. But Giuliano is a man entwined in a bloody web of violence and vendettas. In Sicily, Giuliano is a modern day Robin Hood who has defied corruption--and defied the Cosa Nostra. Now, in the land of mist-shrouded mountains and ancient ruins, Michael Corleone's fate is entwined with the dangerous legend of Salvatore Giuliano: warrior, lover, and the ultimate Siciliano.Rating Regarding Books The Sicilian (The Godfather #2)

Reading Mario Puzo is a new experience for me, and this is only my second to truly compare it against his own. Neither have I read enough stories in crime-genre to compare it against others of its kind. I hope whatever scant knowledge I have of literature will help me honestly judge the book.To tell little of the story (if the book can be believed,) Salvatore "Turi" Guilliano was a Sicilian rebel who rose to prominence in the aftermath of the Second World War. His path to rebellion started whenThe mafia in Sicilia. A fiction novel that introduces the reader to various aspects of the Sicilian mafia, its ties with the government and the people who live on the fringes of the mafia. I enjoyed reading it, and learnt allot about the history of Sicily and the way this history molded the people of Sicily. Not your usual mafia book, as the main character of the book is an outlaw who rules a criminal empire but is not part of the mafia. Through the description of his life, the reader gets
This book is better , but less famous than "The God Father"; because of less Americanized heroic suitableness . A story with loosely connected plot to the preceded novel, in which there is treachery with in the treachery .Fetal mistake of Micheal Corleone changes fate of Giuliano Turi, a hero who died younger but lived longer than many old. The character portrayed reminds of che guevara, who met the same fate.A must read, spell bounding , taste better with tea and winter .
'The Sicilian' was the book that introduced me to the writings of Mario Puzo and it is an absolute page-turner. Puzo narrates a stunning tale of adventure, treachery, bloodshed, love and justice set in a post-war Sicilian landscape with so much flair and mastery over storytelling. The book tells the story of a young Sicilian outlaw-hero named Salvatore Guiliano - who is a Robin Hood like figure who climbs to the top of Sicilian criminal hierarchy - and loosely intertwines his tale based on some
For someone who has just got into books and reading a book every ten days,it was too much to swallow. As I began to study the last hundred pages of the novel 'The Sicillian' by the famous Mario Puzo again ,at midnight,I knew I was falling into an ocean of unbelievable storytelling.Finishing the book at 2.00 a.m,i could not sleep for the next hour or so.Turi Guilliano, undoubtedly the greatest character that i have ever read about is just too unthinkable and great to forget with time.Puzo with his
who wants my freedom? me! he who wants to deprive my freedom just takes my life first, but before that he shall kill me and my soul first
This book has kept upto it's title Sicilian. This book is about survival, be a antagonist or protagonist who survives wins. This book is about Salvatore "Turi" Guiliano who is a bandit but the Sicilian people love him as he is a robin hood for them. This story is about Tuti surviving against the friends of friends don corce. Who wins it is what the book is about. overall it's a goodread... ☺
