i can't wait until the second book!Interesting, intriguing, thoughtful mix of historical fiction/fantasy! The descriptions are vivid, and one is never sure where the book is going to go next. It's easy to put one's feet in Kale's shoes, which makes the ending very emotional. So when is the sequel coming out? I have to find out what happens next!!!
This is an exciting story of a young girl unwilling on the run with a young man who says he is running from the king.the It is hard to put down as you read of the obstacles they run into as well as a man in a black cloak in pursuit of them.Throughout the story it is implied that it is the girl that is wanted but does not say why. I cannot wait until the next installment of the story comes out.
DNF.It was a struggle to read this book. I wanted to like it, because the world was interesting, but then the writing was bad and the characters are unpolished. This book needs extensive editing. I know, that was harsh, but I'm being honest here.The story is fast-paced, but it lacks certain details that will make the story easier to understand. The MC, Kale, lacks emotions and is just too weird. If I became a slave suddenly, without explanations and justification, I would throw a fit. Kale
After a few words, I found the writing disappeared leaving a vivid story with damp castle walls, conflicted heroines and mysterious heroes. The Last Pages pulls you on a quick ride through a satisfying adventure with a complex ending. Written as a 14 year old, this book promises to be one of many to follow.
